Keeping Them Entertained
Even though kids find the most unusual things exciting, anyone who has been around children will know that that excitement is pretty short-lived. They often get bored soon after, and they try to entertain themselves in other ways. This sometimes involves breaking things, smashing jars on the floor, or painting your brand new kitchen cabinets. If you’re at breaking point yourself, it might be an idea to take the advice of Bree Tomasel, a babysitter from Australia.
A Cheap Alternative
Bree often looks after children that just won’t stay still and those that cause all kinds of nuisance while she’s with them, and sometimes she gets pretty tired of it. When she wants a break, she whips out a hack that’s a cheap alternative to hiding in the closet and waiting for the kids to calm down. She simply asks the kids if they want to win $5, and when they jump around and scream that they want the dollar, she tells them that they have to earn it. To do this, they have to place the bill against the wall and put their heads on it to keep it in place. The person who can hold the money on the wall for the longest wins!
Of course, kids will do anything for a little extra pocket money, and she has found that the kids often stay there for ten, fifteen, twenty, and sometimes even thirty minutes without moving.
